The Raney Gold Project is a 2,800 hectare, 100%-owned property by Trident Resources, located in Timmins, Ontario, within the Archean Swayze Greenstone Belt—a southwest extension of the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt. This region is renowned for hosting world-class gold districts such as Timmins and Kirkland Lake, with notable nearby operations including Newmont’s Borden Mine, which achieved commercial production in 2019.
Highlights:
- The Raney Project is a prospective gold property located ~110 km southwest of the prolific gold district of Timmins, ON
- Limited historical exploration campaigns have outlined a +400-metre-long zone where gold mineralization is associated with intensely sheared and altered rocks
- Expansion potential of a historic drill intercept that returned 6.5 g/t gold over 8 metres
- Geological model identified continuity of mineralized zones and expanded strike and dip potential
- Excellent potential to discover additional gold-bearing structures and expand known zones
- Property has excellent access and infrastructure; accessible by paved and forestry roads
- Newmont’s newest gold mine (Borden) located ~35km west and IAMGOLD’s Cote development project is ~75km southeast
A 2023 drill program identified hole RN 23-22 which returned 2.4 grams per tonne gold over 7.5 metres starting at 249 metres, including a high-grade intercept of 11.7 grams per tonne over 1 metre, pointing to new exploration targets at depth.
The Raney Project is currently available for sale or option, as the Company is focused on its strategic assets located in Saskatchewan.
