Preview SW Gold Deposit 2023 Historical Mineral Resource Estimate
The Preview SW Deposit hosts an Historical Indicated Mineral Resource of 5,457,000 tonnes grading 1.56 g/t Au containing 273,000 ounces of gold and an Historical Inferred Mineral Resource of 5,852,000 tonnes grading 1.40 g/t Au, containing 263,000 ounces of gold at a 0.4 g/t cut-off. (Louis F. Fourie, et al.,Technical Report on the 2023 Historical Mineral Resource Update for the Preview SW Project, La Ronge Gold Belt, Saskatchewan, Canada; Effective date March 3, 2022).
The Preview SW Deposit is located approximately 75 km northeast of La Ronge and is accessible via Highway 102 and a maintained local trail. It spans three dispositions covering 843 hectares.
Infrastructure: Powerlines are nearby, extending from the Contact Lake Deposit. The community of Missinipi is located about 30 km north of the deposit.
Recent Drill Programs: Recent drill programs in 2017, 2018 and 2022 tested the continuity of gold mineralization along strike and down-dip in addition to discovering new gold zones and expanding the historical mineral resource. The Preview SW Deposit offers significant growth and discovery potential.
Updated Historical Mineral Resource Estimate (2022):
- Indicated Resource: 5.46 MT @ 1.56 g/t Au (273,000 oz).
- Inferred Resource: 5.85 MT @ 1.40 g/t Au (263,000 oz).
This updated Historical Mineral Resource Estimate (2022) added > 100,000 ounces of Historical Indicated Resource through tighter drill spacing and, strategic testing of the down-dip continuity of the gold mineralization.
Deposit Information:
- First staked in 1937 and subsequently acquired by Preview Mines Ltd. in 1938 (Livingstone & Christian, 2017).
- Ownership evolved through Studer Mines Ltd., Westfield Minerals Ltd., and Cameco Corporation (1979-2004).
- La Ronge Gold Corp. (later Select Sands Corp.) acquired the property in 2011, releasing a resource estimate in 2012.
- Comstock Metals Ltd. acquired the Preview SW claims in 2016, releasing an updated resource estimate.
- MAS Gold Corp. reached an agreement to acquire the claims in 2022, with the sale finalized in March 2022.
Key Deposit Features:
- Multiple sub-parallel, northeast-trending shear zones (1-10 m wide) host auriferous quartz veins that are persistent at depth. Dilatant structures within these shear zones are directly related to gold mineralization (Simpson, 2016).
- Gold mineralization is associated with various sulfides including arsenopyrite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite.
